Description

Continuous Improvement Senior Manager

The primary role of the Senior Manager of Continuous Improvement is to serve as an internal Lean Six-Sigma Consultant to leaders and to drive a culture of Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement within Supply Chain Operations that increases the organization's mastery of Lean principles. They will serve as a Lean sensei to top leaders; therefore, substantial experience in teaching and driving both practical problem-solving, and Lean thinking is required. Their ability to leverage Lean thinking methodologies and tools, facilitate teams, partner with Subject Matter Experts, leaders in Operations, and other key leaders and stakeholders within Supply Chain, will be key to their success in leading large scale projects which deliver improvements and robust new processes. They will focus on excellence in customer experience (internal and external), safety, efficiency, quality, cost, and delivery. The scope of responsibility is focused on TLC Reverse Logistics with potential Asurion-wide projects that relate to Supply Chain domestically and internationally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Create and mature a Lean culture that drives Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement
  • Act as a sensei and mentor in developing Lean thinking in others
  • Facilitate Kaizen Events, lead Process Mapping and Value Stream Mapping sessions, lead projects
  • Identify and prioritize improvement opportunities and projects within the TLC Operations that add value, and eliminate/reduce wastes (defects, overproduction, waiting, not-utilizing talent, transportation, inventory, motion, excessive processing)
  • Lead the design of new Lean processes utilizing the 3P Methodology to deliver optimized processes that are devoid of waste, meet client and business needs, and enable new capabilities
  • Practice a PDCA approach to work converting ideas into actions which result in successful, sustainable improvements
  • Assist in the development of business case and cost/benefit analysis
  • Lead the scoping and prioritization of projects to ensure clarity and alignment to strategy
  • Meet and exceed timing, goals, and budget on projects and initiatives
  • Leverage best practices across Supply Chain Operations
  • Gather data from various sources, turn into consumable information, draw conclusions, make decisions, and take appropriate actions
  • Drive Root Cause analysis to deliver robust mistake-proof solutions

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Engineering discipline) with 5+ years of relevant work experience preferred
  • Experience in Logistics or Manufacturing Industry preferred
  • Expert at applying Lean methodologies and tools
  • Strong facilitation skills with the ability to lead teams and manage projects
  • Six-Sigma certification a plus (Yellow/Green/Black Belt)
  • Experience using statistical software a plus (JMP, Minitab)
  • Microsoft Office skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, etc.)
