Job Description The University of Nevada, Las Vegas invites applications for Program Coordinator/ Senior Program Coordinator, UNLV Student Diversity Programs [R0141982] ROLE of the POSITION This posting is to fill three positions based on the level of education and experience. Reporting to Assistant/Associate Director for Student Diversity Programs within the office of Student Diversity Programs (Student Life/Division of Student Affairs) this position provides leadership, programs, and trainings for students in order to advance competency and promote a culture of inclusion and equity as it relates to the Black/African American, Native American, LGBTQIA+, Gender, Asian, Pacific Islander & Middle Eastern (APIME) and Latinx. Responsibilities include creating, collaborating, implementing, marketing, and assessing programs that successfully engages domestic and international students in multicultural and high impact practice learning outcomes; connecting and maintaining networks and relationships with identity-based programs and student organizations; implementation of identity-based month programming; and campus-wide programming. Programs, training, and involvement opportunities are designed with an intersectional, equity and inclusion lens and marketed to appeal to a diverse, commuter student population. Administrative functions include budget management, risk management, assessment, and supervision of student and/or graduate assistant staff. Through the intentional use of student development theory and cultural identity development theory, this position enhances a growing sense of community by fostering students' awareness and appreciation of social justice on a highly diverse campus. Ability to work evenings and weekends required. The successful candidate will demonstrate support for diversity, equity, and inclusiveness as well as participate in maintaining a respectful, positive work environment. PROFILE of the DEPARTMENT Student Life is a robust student-facing unit with over 100 full-time employees who serve in nine departments. Its primary purpose is to provide both programming and support services that focus on the student success. Student Life is centrally located on the UNLV Maryland Campus where it operates nearly one million square feet of multi-use space and accommodates 1750 students in its residential program. It promotes student involvement in multiple ways to provide a holistic collegiate experience. Currently, there are 400 plus registered student organizations which comprise of academic, social, political, religious, and Greek letter nationally affiliated organizations for students to partake in. The unit employs over 475 students making it one of the largest units on campus to provide students with jobs and work experience. Through co-curricular engagement, operations, infrastructure, and services, Student Life is committed to creating opportunities to intentionally develop students from enrollment to graduation and beyond. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS The Program Coordinator position requires a master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and nine months relevant experience as a graduate assistant or post-bachelors in university setting providing identity-based related programming, OR bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and two years of post-bachelors relevant experience. The Senior Program Coordinator position requires a master's degree from a regionally accredited college or university as recognized by the United States Department of Education and/or the Council on Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) and two years post-bachelors relevant experience OR bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited college or university and four years post-bachelors relevant experience. Credentials must be obtained prior to the start date.
