REPORTS TO: Special Education Manager
POSITION TYPE: 10-month
COMPENSATION: $60,000 - $78,000
TEACHER INCENTIVE ALOTTMENT ELIGIBLE COURSE: up to $101,500

TEACHER INCENTIVE ALOTTMENT
At YES Prep, we want to retain high-performing teachers in the place where they can have the greatest impact: the classroom. Through our Teacher Pathway, we reward our highest performing teachers with yearly stipends, differentiated development and coaching, and unique opportunities to flex their influence.
YES Prep is also a TEA Teacher Incentive Allotment approved district. Teachers in eligible courses can earn up to an additional $32,000 a year based on their performance on our Instructional Excellence Rubric and student growth for 5 years if they remain in the classroom.
This means that based on our teacher salary scale, upon their 3rd year in a role, teacher in an eligible course with the following years of experience:
- 1 year of experience: $93,000
- 5 years of experience: $96,000
- 10 years of experience: $99,000
- 15 years of experience: $101,500
THE ROLE
As a Teacher, some of the work and responsibilities will include:
- Developing rigorous lessons in your specific content area, in 1:1 blended learning environments, in order to reignite your students for college and beyond while bridging gaps for marginalized communities
- Setting ambitious goals with your students and monitoring their progress while encouraging them through frequent and persistent feedback
- Tracking student growth and using data and feedback from coaches to create student growth plans when needed for student achievement concerns
- Building transformable relationships with students and families by providing regular, and consistent, communication with parents via phone or video conference, email, or district-approved website
- Creating a physical or virtual classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students
- Collaborating with co-planner to work through daily lesson plans and add resources when needed to fit students' needs.
- Meeting regular deadlines for daily lesson plans, submitting grades, and work samples
- Working on a team of teachers and leaders to provide consistency, support, and accountability to all students
- Working with content teams in Professional Development to norm on, and improve student learning
- Conducting weekly tutorials outside of regular class day to provide additional instruction and support to students
- Completing supervision duties on campus that support student safety including but not limited to morning duty, lunch duty, dismissal, detention, and afterschool duty
- Growing professionally in your craft of teaching by both receive and giving feedback on a consistent basis from DOI, School Leader, Administration Team
- Persisting in the face of challenges, learning from mistakes, and setting a strong example of character for your students
- Being available by phone, email, or video conferencing to confer with campus leaders, collaborators, students, and/or parents
- Providing personal care services as needed
- Additional duties as assigned

THE MUST HAVES
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited four-year college or university recognized by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB)
- Texas Educator Certification, Core and Bilingual Certified (Standard or Intern Certification), or Standard Core Certificate, and ability to obtain bilingual certification by first day of school.
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Strong ability to navigate web-related applications and technology
- Ability to instruct students using a variety of technology applications and platforms

THE PERKS
- Compensation - This position is an exempt, salaried position; salary offers commensurate with experience. The starting salary for a first-year teacher is $61,000.
- Health and Supplemental Insurance - A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.
- Retirement Plans - Participation in Teacher Retirement System of Texas and a 457b Retirement Plan.
- Paid Time Off - Employees working 20+ hours a week receive 10 days of Paid Time Off in addition to the system closures during the Academic Calendar.
- Paid Leave Programming - In the event you need to be out due to medical needs (including maternity and paternity leave), YES Prep offers paid leave, paid out at 100%, based on eligibility and tenure.

- Teacher Pathway - YES Prep recognizes and evaluates our teachers through the Teacher Pathway. Teachers can earn up to $3,000 in bonuses for top performance.
- Teacher Incentive Allotment - YES Prep is a Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) designated district. TIA designated teachers can earn between $3,000 to $32,000 for their performance.
